As soon as any obstacle comes on the train track, the alert system sends a signal. With this system, the loco pilot gets information about the obstacles present on the track even at night and in dense fog, so that the loco pilot can reduce the speed of the train.

According to the information, this device has been used on 1098 line kilometers and 65 engines of South Central Railway. It is to be implemented on parts of Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah circuit. According to Indian Railways, by 2028, anti-collision device will be fully implemented on all the railway tracks of the country. It is believed that after the complete implementation of this technology in the Indian Railway network, rail accidents will be negligible. With the help of this technology, when there is any problem on the track or a train is seen in front, the loco pilot immediately sees a danger message. In such a situation, if the loco operator fails to reduce the speed of the train or stop it, then ‘Kavach’ automatically applies brakes and reduces the speed and stops it. This technology works continuously using high frequency radio contact.
